Seneca Park is a 297 acre park located in the city of Rochester next to the Genesee River. It is the home of the Seneca Park Zoo. The Genesee Riverway Trail runs through park along the east side of the river. Off of the Genesee Riverway Trail in the north section of the park, there a few paths that go down to the river. They have steps and railings to help with navigation up and down the steep hill. From an area called Olmstead Landing, the hiker can see a small waterfall that goes into the river. The rest of the trail is a fairly flat, well marked path. The park also has a small body of water called Trout Lake where the visitor may find families of ducks and swans. In the southern part of the park, there is a beautiful pedestrian bridge that goes across the river into the Maplewood Park on the other side. The pedestrian bridge offers a great view of the river and the Veterans Memorial Bridge to the south.
