Maplewood Park is a park in the city of Rochester on the west side of the Genesee River. It was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. It has a beautiful rose garden and views of the Lower and Middle Falls on the Genesee River.

There is a cave along the river to the west of the Lower Falls. This can be accessed from the park from the trail that can be found behind the restrooms near the parking lot. You would need to walk down the steps and then leave the paved trail in the area above some rectangular stone ruins and find a trail to the north of the ruins that goes down to the river. Once you are at the river, head south along the trail towards the lower falls. Close to the falls, you will see a large cave. The mist from the falls can make the rocks along the trail very slippery, but if you take it slow, the find is worth it and the cave can be accessed from the trail. Enjoy the best view you will be able to get of the Lower Falls.
