Genesee Riverway Trail

The Genesee Riverway Trail is a mainly flat 16 mile long trail that runs through Rochester along both sides of the Genesee River. Along the way are various parks, pedestrian bridges, and city buildings. The paved trail begins in the Genesee Valley Park and runs north up to Court Street. It then begins again in the west of the river in the Lower Falls Park south of the Driving Park Avenue and runs north to Lake Ontario. A good map of the trail can be found on the City of Rochester page linked below.

In the Lower Falls Park, there is a view of the Lower Falls and south of that is a walkway over the Middle Falls where the water is diverted to an RG&E generator. Although the High Falls is not on the trail, it can be viewed from the Pont de Rennes Pedestrian Bridge in the area of the river between the two sections of the Genesee Riverway Trail.
