Civil War balloon at Genesee Country Village and Museum The Genesee Country Village and Museum lets the visitor experience a 19th century American village. It is a 600 acre museum and has over 40 buildings and a variety of live demonstrations and activities scheduled throughout the year. The museum includes 19th century public buildings including churches, a school, a store, a post office, a blacksmith, and a farm. There are different types of houses ranging from simple pioneer homes to Victorian mansions. The Intrepid, a replica of a Civil War Balloon, can be seen in the air depending on weather conditions. Other attractions include the Carriage Museum, the Heirloom Gardens, and the Genesee County Nature Center. Watch for special events such as Civil War re-enactments.
